Assembly – International Chess Day
On the occasion of International ChessĀ Day students of class 2E conducted a special assembly on 17-07-2026. The assembly featured an engaging and educational presentation based on the fascinating game of chess. Students enthusiastically dressed up as the King, Queen, Rook, Bishop, Knight, and Pawn, bringing the chessboard to life through their vibrant costumes. The teacher introduced each chess piece, explaining its unique movement, importance, and strategic role on the board. This interactive session helped the audience develop a clear understanding of the basic rules and concepts of the game.
Adding a historical perspective to the presentation, the teacher shared the remarkable journey of chess, tracing its origins to ancient India and its evolution into one of the world’s most celebrated strategy games. Students carrying colourful placards of the different chess pieces further enriched the presentation by helping the audience easily identify and remember each piece and its significance.
The highlight of the assembly was a captivating musical performance in which the students creatively demonstrated the movements of the various chess pieces through synchronized choreography. Their graceful coordination transformed the stage into a living chessboard, making the learning experience both enjoyable and memorable. The presentation beautifully blended knowledge, creativity, and teamwork, inspiring students to appreciate the values of strategic thinking, concentration, discipline, and sportsmanship that the game of chess promotes.
